#1 Build your article and factory structure
First, create your article and factory structure. Often work instructions are linked either to an article or a factory zone. Work instructions related to an article often contain information about what actions need to be taken to produce a specific product. Work instructions related to a factory zone include guidance about how to steer a specific machine,…
Before you can link a work instruction to an article or factory zone you first need to create the article category or factory zone:
#2 Create your work instruction
Next, as soon as the article category and/ or factory zone is created, it is now time to create a work instruction. Right click on the article category or factory zone for which you want to create a work instruction and select create work instruction.
When you create a work instruction, you must also assign it the correct naming convention. This just by typing the title of your work instruction.
#3 Write down the instruction steps
Now you can write down each of the steps which need to be followed within the instruction.
#4 Create instruction blocks
Azumuta provides standard work instruction which consists of one instruction block. In case you want to further categorize instruction steps into sub activities of a work instruction, you can add additional instruction blocks.
This is what a work instruction with more than one instruction block will look like for an operator:
#5 Add visuals to an instruction
We all know the saying “A picture is worth more than a thousand words”, this is exactly the same for your operators. Adding a picture to a work instruction significantly reduces the time an operator spends for each of the work instructions steps and increases the clarity of it.
Within Azumuta multiple visuals are supported, pictures, video’s and also PDF files can be attached to a specific step in your work instructions. Adding a visual can be done by clicking double on the instruction step or by selecting the visuals shortcut.
Select the type of Visual you want to add:
Why are good work instructions so essential?
