Introducing Azumuta Labs

A new public arm of Azumuta where we connect state-of-the-art manufacturing AI to real shop-floor problems, and share what we learn, including the failures.

A short introduction to Azumuta Labs by Batist Leman, founder and CEO of Azumuta.

Our mission is to turn manufacturing into a limitless engine of progress. That’s why we are introducing Azumuta Labs, where we connect state-of-the-art manufacturing AI with real-world manufacturing problems.

Hi, I’m Batist Leman, founder and CEO of Azumuta. With Labs, we want to make the next generation of manufacturing AI legible, hands-on, and useful. Not a slide deck. Not a press release. Real experiments, in real environments, in the open.

The moment

The world is moving fast, and the coming months will be existential for a lot of companies. Manufacturing is no exception.

Some will be too slow to adopt new technology, and will quietly disappear. Others will take ownership of the change, and come out stronger than before.

We’re building Azumuta Labs for the second group.

What Azumuta Labs is

Azumuta Labs is the place we publish what we are learning, building, and stress-testing, so the manufacturers around us can move faster too.

It’s a working space, not a marketing channel. Every prototype is something we are actually putting in front of operators, supervisors, and quality teams. Every write-up is something we would want to read ourselves before betting our roadmap on it.

What we are exploring

In the Labs we work on the technologies that will shape the next decade of shop-floor performance:

  • Vision-language models (VLMs) that capture, structure, and explain how work actually gets done.
  • Robotics and automation at the edge of what is possible without losing human control.
  • Inspection and quality intelligence that learns from every part that comes off the line.
  • Continuous-improvement agents that surface the signals operators don’t have time to chase.
  • And anything else that looks like a credible lever for raising performance on the floor.

Some of it will be ready for production. Some of it won’t. All of it will be shared.

We publish what we learn, including the failures

Every meaningful result lands here in the open. On our website, on LinkedIn, in person at live demos. The experiments that didn’t work? Especially those. The path to good manufacturing AI is shorter when we don’t all repeat each other’s dead ends.

Be part of it

This isn’t a broadcast channel. It’s a community of manufacturers who want to lead this moment, not be led by it.

  • Propose a challenge. If there’s a real problem you’ve been circling on the shop floor, bring it to us. We’ll work on it together.
  • Validate an experiment. Take one of our prototypes into your environment and see how it holds up against your reality.
  • Stay close. Follow along, share what you find, and bring your team into the conversation.

Make it happen

We are extremely ambitious about this moment in time, and about what it can mean for manufacturing. But ambition is not a plan.

The companies that will lead the next decade are the ones taking ownership of it now: by experimenting, by sharing, by absorbing what they learn into how they operate every single day.

Azumuta Labs is our contribution. The rest is up to all of us.
