In the previous guide webpage, we’ve explained what are widgets and dashboards. In this webpage, we’ll show you how you can add a widget and a dashboard to your workspace.
How to Add a Dashboard #
In Azumuta, a widget is always hosted within a dashboard. Thus, you can only add a widget to a dashboard. If you don’t have any dashboard yet on your workspace, then you’ll need to create one. Here’s how to create a dashboard:
- Click on “Dashboards” on the side panel.
- Click on the plus icon under “Dashboards”.
- Type in the dashboard name.
- Click on “Save”.

How to Deploy a Widget to a Dashboard #
Once you’ve added a dashboard, you can add widgets to this dashboard. Here’s how to add a widget to a dashboard:
- Navigate to the targeted dashboard.
- Click on the yellow plus button on the bottom right of the screen.
- Navigate to the widget that you would like to deploy, and click on “Create”.
- Select the configuration options as desired.
- Click on “Add”.
- If there’s a date range on the widget: click on the date range (next to the widget name), and adjust the date range. Click on “Custom rolling range” for more date range options.
- When you’re done, click on “Save”.
- Click on “Yes”.
- Adjust the widget’s size as desired.
In Azumuta, there are tens of widgets that you can use from. On the next guide webpages, you can find the instructions on how to use each widget. You can also learn how to configure a widget here.
Additionally, when adding a widget to a dashboard, instead of looking for it manually, you can also use the following tools to help you find the desired widget:
- Use the search bar to search for a specific widget.
- Use this menu to filter widgets based on their related module/add-on.
- Use this menu to filter widgets based on their visualization type.
Should a Dashboard Contain Only One Widget or Multiple Widgets? #
As has been previously mentioned, a dashboard can contain one or multiple widgets. Thus, some users might ask: is it better to have a dashboard for each widget, or to have multiple widgets within a dashboard?
The answer is: it depends on your needs.
If you need to monitor several individual metrics (and these metrics are not related to each other or that they cover topics that are entirely different from one another), then having a dashboard for each widget works best.
However, if you would like to monitor several metrics that are related to each other, then it’s recommended to group these widgets under a single dashboard.
