How to Add an Instruction Block to a Work Instruction

What Is an Instruction Block?

An instruction block is a group of instruction steps that are related to a production phase. This makes organizing a work instruction a much more manageable task.

The image below illustrates well how a work instruction can be divided into several instruction blocks.

1. This is the first instruction block.
2. This is the second instruction block.
3. This is the third instruction block.
4. This is the fourth instruction block.

You can add as many instruction blocks as needed.

How to Add a New Instruction Block

When you are starting a new work instruction, you’ll automatically have a pre-made first instruction block. The instruction block will have the same description as the work instruction’s name. Of course, you can edit this pre-made instruction block. Click here to learn how.

Moreover, here are the steps to add the second instruction block:

1. Navigate to the work instruction where you would like to add an instruction block.
2. Click on “Add instruction block”.
3. Type in the description of the instruction block.

To add the third instruction block (and further instruction blocks), simply repeat the steps above.
