There are 3 possible ways to create a product order manually:
- The product order is created based on an article (recommended)
- The product order is created based on an article category
- The product order is created independently from any article or article category
How to Create a Product Order That Is Based on an Article #
- Click on Quality Management in the homepage sidebar and select “Product orders”.
- Click the Yellow plus button to create a product order.
- Click the “Select an article” dropdown menu, and choose the article. Then, the Work instructions, Variants, and Parameters fields will be automatically populated. However, you can still edit them in step No. 5.
- Enter the product order number/name.
- Enter/edit the product order data on the existing fields (if needed).
- If you want to edit the product order variants & parameters, you can click on the “Variants & Parameters” tab and enter the details there.
- Click on “Create product order” when you’re done.
Note: In order to create a product order based on an article, you will need to have a pre-existing article. Click here to learn how.
Editing the Product Order Data (General Tab) #
When you choose to create a product order based on an article, the “Work instructions” dropdown menu is automatically filled. You can also add additional data on the existing fields:
- Enter the product order number/name.
- Select the timeline.
- Select the product order executor.
- Select the amount of products that will be made in this product order.
- Normally, the work instructions related to the product order have been pre-populated. However, you can still edit it.
- If additional work instructions are needed for this product order, you can add them here.
- Add an attachment (if any).
- Add notes (if any).
- If your product has any variant or parameter, click on the “Variant & Parameters” tab. Please see the next guide section to learn more about it.
- When you’re done, click on “Create product order”.
Note: The only mandatory field is "Product order number".
Editing the Product Order Data (Variants & Parameters Tab) #
When you choose to create a product order based on an article, the Variants and Parameters fields are automatically populated. However, you can still edit them:
- Click to edit the variants.
- Select the parameter editor mode.
- Click to edit the parameter key
- Click to edit the parameter value.
- Click on it to add available parameter fields.
- When you’re done, click on “Create product order”.

How To Create a Product Order Based On an Article Category #
- Click on Quality Management in the homepage sidebar and select “Product orders”.
- Click the Yellow plus button to create a product order.
- Click the “Select an article” dropdown menu, and choose the article category.
- Then, the Work instructions fields will be automatically populated. However, you can still edit them in step No. 5.
- Enter the product order number/name.
- Enter/edit the product order data on the existing fields (if needed).
- If you want to edit the product order variants & parameters, you can click on the “Variants &
- Parameters” tab and enter the details there.
- Click on “Create product order” when you’re done.
Note: In order to create a product order based on an article category, you will need to have a pre-existing article category. Click here to learn how to make one.

How to Create a Product Order That Is Not Linked to Any Article or Article Category #
In this method of creating a product order, the necessary work instructions, possible variants and parameters will have to be selected and filled in manually for this specific order. Creating an order by manual order configuration can be done in the following way:
- Click on Quality Management in the homepage sidebar and select “Product orders”.
- Click the Yellow plus button to create a product order.
- Enter the product order data manually.
- If there are product variants & parameters, you can click on the “Variants & Parameters” tab and enter the details there.
- Click on “Create product order” when you’re done.
Inputting Product Order Data Manually (General Tab) #
- Select an article (if any).
- Enter the product order number/name.
- Select the timeline.
- Select the product order executor.
- Select the amount of products that will be made in this product order.
- Tick the relevant work instructions.
- Add an attachment (if any).
- Add notes (if any).

- When you’re done, click on “Create product order”.

Note: While you can create a product order with this method, we recommend creating a product order based on an article or ERP input instead. That way, all instructions, variants, and parameters are already pre-configured. Thus, you don't have to manually configure them on your own each time you're making a new product order.
