How to Input a Competency Level to an Employee via the Skill Matrix #
Here’s how to assign the competency level to an employee using an Azumuta skill matrix:
- Navigate to the targeted skill matrix tab.
- Click on the corresponding box where you would like to assign the competency level into.
- Select the desired competency level (1-5).
How to Change an Employee’s Existing Competency Level via the Skill Matrix #
What if an employee already has an existing competency level? You can still change it by following these steps:
- Navigate to the targeted skill matrix tab.
- Click on the corresponding box where you would like to change the competency level.
- Select the desired competency level (1-5).
How to Input a Competency Level After a Training #
As an Admin #
As an admin, you can assign an employee’s competency level based on their performance on a training. Here’s how to do it:
- Click on “Skill Matrix & Trainings” in the homepage sidebar.
- Click on “Planning”.
- Select the targetted planning tab.
- Click on a training event dot.
- Click on “Report” to evaluate an operator’s answers and training summary. You can also click on the “Detailed” tab for more information.
- Once you’re done evaluating, click on the close icon.
- Click on the same training event dot again.
- Click on “Fill out”.
- Click on “Finished training”.
- Select the desired competency level (1-5).
- Give your signature.
- Click on “Finish training”.
The competency level that you gave will be shown on the skill matrix that is linked to this training work instruction.

As an Operator #
An operator can also self-assess themself by inputting their own competency level and giving their signature at the end of each training work instruction.
Note: Only an authorized operator can grade themself. Moreover, an admin will always have the final say in grading an operator, as an admin can override an operator's competency level directly at the skill matrix.
How to Delete a Competency Level of an Employee #
- Navigate to the targeted skill matrix tab.
- Click on the competency level that you wish to delete.
- Click on “View history”.
- Click on “Remove training”.
- Click on the close icon.
How to See an Employee’s Competency Level History for a Specific Skill/Training #
You can check the evolution of an employee’s competency level for a specific skill/training. Here’s how to check it:
- Navigate to the targeted skill matrix tab.
- Click on the corresponding box where you would like to check the competency history.
- Click on “View history”.
- The screen will display the competency level changes from time to time, as well as their supporting details:
- The time of the changes
- Who updated the competency level
- Which training activities has the selected employee undertaken that led to these changes
