As has been stated in the previous guides, parameter(s) can be added to an article. Therefore, all product orders made based on that article will carry the same parameters.
Where to Find the Parameter Menu on an Article #
Configuring the parameters of an article can be done in the following way:
- Click on Quality Management in the homepage sidebar.
- Click on Quality Procedures.
- Click on an existing article category.
- Click on the “ERP Configuration” tab.
- Click on the “Parameters” tab.
How to Create a New Parameter and Populate It #
- Click on Quality Management in the homepage sidebar.
- Click on Quality Procedures.
- Click on an existing article category.
- Click on the “ERP Configuration” tab.
- Click on the “Parameters” tab.
- Click on the gear icon.
- Click on “Add parameter”.
- Insert the parameter name
- Click on “Create”.
- Populate the fields with the desired content.
Note: If the parameter key consists of 2 or more words, then you should use an underscore sign in between the words, as shown below.
How to Choose the Parameter Value Type #
There are 3 available parameter value types. Each of them has their own specific use:
- Text (the parameter value can only display letters and symbols – it can’t display numbers). This parameter value type is commonly used to display an article’s qualitative characteristics (e.g., its color, material, etc.).
- Number (the parameter value can only display numbers – it can’t display letters or symbols. To perform calculations with parameters, you will need to choose this parameter value type). This parameter value type is commonly used to display an article’s quantitative characteristics (e.g., it’s length, weight, etc.).
- True/False (the parameter value displays either “true” or “false”). This parameter value type is commonly used to answer a yes/no question (e.g., “does this item contain any hazardous material?”).
By default, a newly created parameter will have “Text” as its default parameter value type. However, you can change it. Here’s how to choose the parameter value type of a parameter:
- Click on Quality Management in the homepage sidebar.
- Click on Quality Procedures.
- Click on an existing article category.
- Click on the “ERP Configuration” tab.
- Click on the three-dot icon next to the article that contains the parameter value type that you would like to change.
- Click on “Edit”.
- Click on the “Parameters” tab.
- Click on “abc “ if the current parameter value type is “Text”, click on “123” if the current parameter value type is “Number”, or click on “T/F” if the current parameter value type is “True/False”.
- Select the new parameter value type.
- When you’re done, click on “Save”.
How to Rename or Delete an Existing Parameter #
- Click on Quality Management in the homepage sidebar.
- Click on Quality Procedures.
- Click on an existing article category.
- Click on the “ERP Configuration” tab.
- Click on the “Parameters” tab.
- Click on the gear icon.
- Click on “Manage parameters”.
- Select the parameter that you would like to configure, and click on the three-dot icon next to it.
- To rename the variant: click on “Edit”, insert the variant’s name, and click on “Update”.
- To delete the variant: click on “Unlink”.
