How to Log In to the Azumuta App

Updated

This article covers every way to log in to the Azumuta app. The same methods work for admins and operators, and they work the same in the mobile app and the browser version. For background, see the differences between Azumuta on Web and the Azumuta app.

Once you have an account, open the Azumuta app or use the device specific URL in your preferred browser to open the login page and use one of the listed methods:

  1. A one-time QR code
  2. An email
  3. An identifier

You can also open the app in a browser instead of the mobile app, covered at the end of this article.

Use a one-time QR code

As an admin, generate your own QR code:

  1. Open Azumuta on Web and click your profile icon in the top right.
  2. Click Login on mobile device with QR code.

As an operator, an admin generates the code for you:

  1. Go to Management → Users → Overview.
  2. Click the (three-dot) icon next to the operator.
  3. Click Generate one-time QR code to login user.
  4. Share the QR code with the operator.

Then, on the device's login page, click Scan one-time QR code to sign in and scan the code.

Note: Each QR code works once. Generate a new one each time you log in this way.

Use your email

  1. Type your email address.
  2. Type your password.
  3. If your company has a custom domain, click the pencil to change the default.
  4. Click Sign in.

Use an identifier

An identifier is a personal code that lets an operator sign in to a shared device without a full account login. This is useful when operators share devices instead of having their own.

An admin sets this up first, once per device. See how to set up an identifier login.

After setup, on the login screen, sign in with your identifier in one of two ways:

  • Type your code in the Sign in with identifier field.
  • Scan the QR code that represents your identifier.

If the option shows (needs setup), the device is not registered yet. An admin needs to set up the identifier login.

Open the app in a browser

You can open the app in a browser instead of the mobile app. This is useful when:

  • An admin wants to see how an item, such as a work instruction, looks to an operator.
  • An operator has no tablet or smartphone, so a desktop or laptop browser is the only way to reach the app.
  • An operator finds a tablet or smartphone screen too small and prefers a larger desktop or laptop screen.

There are two ways to open it.

Open the operator view from Azumuta on Web

Click Open operator view at the top of the screen.

The

This is the quickest method, but it works for admins only and shows the operator view from your own account. You cannot view it as another user.

This takes longer, but it lets you log in to any account in your workspace. The link can only be copied from Azumuta on Web (admin view).

As an admin:

  1. Go to Management → Devices.
  2. Next to the device, click copy unique device link.
  3. Paste the link into a new browser tab, then press Enter.

As an operator, an admin copies the link for you:

  1. The admin goes to Management → Devices and clicks copy unique device link next to the device.
  2. The admin shares the link with the operator.
  3. The operator opens the link.

Tip: If you log in to a device often, bookmark this link in your browser.
