Besides using the Azumuta app itself, you can also access the app from your browser. There are various use cases on why an Azumuta user (be it an admin or an operator) might want to access the app from their browser. For example:
- An admin would want to see how an item (e.g., a work instruction) appears from the operator’s perspective.
- An operator works in a plant that doesn’t provide tablets/smartphones/any other devices that can support the Azumuta app. Thus, the browser on their desktop computer/laptop is the only way they can access the app.
- A tablet’s/smartphone’s screen is much smaller than a desktop computer’s/laptop’s screen. For some operators with visual impairments, seeing small texts and objects on a tablet/smartphone might be too difficult. Thus, some operators might prefer to open the app from the browser of their desktop computer/laptop instead – which has a far larger screen than any tablet/smartphone.
- And many other use cases.
How to Open the App View/Operator View from Azumuta on Web #
- Click on “Open operator view” – located at the top of the screen, as indicated below:
This method only works for admins. Moreover, this is the simplest method to view the browser version of the app as an admin.
However, there’s a drawback: with this method, you can only access the browser version of the operator view from the perspective of your own user account. You can’t see it from the perspective of other user accounts in your workspace.
How to Open the Browser Version of the App Using a Unique Device Link #
As an Admin #
Another method to log in to the browser version of the app as is by using a unique device link.
Compared to the previous method, it takes more time to implement this method. However, you can log in to any user account that exists in your workspace with this method.
- Click on “Devices” under “Management”.
- Next to the device that you would like to log in to, click on “copy unique device link”.
- Paste the link on a new tab, and press enter on your keyboard.
As an Operator #
An operator can also do the same thing, and they’ll have to follow the same steps as shown in the guide section above. However, there’s one difference:
An admin must obtain the unique device link for the operator, as that link can only be obtained from Azumuta on Web (admin view).
This is how the steps will look like:
- An admin clicks on “Devices” under “Management”.
- Next to the device that an operator wants to login into, The admin clicks on “copy unique device link”.
- The admin shares the link with the operator.
- The operator opens that link.
The first video shows steps No.1-3, while the second video shows steps 4-5.
Tip: If you will be logging in to a particular device quite often (be it as an admin or as an operator), it can be a good idea to save this link as a bookmark on your browser.
