In this webpage, we will cover about device settings that revolve around work instructions.
How to Access the Work Instructions-Related Device Settings #
- Click on “Devices” under “Management”.
- Next to the device that you would like to configure, click on the three-dot icon.
- Click on “Edit device”.
- Click on the “Work Instructions” tab.
What Are the Possible Configuration Options? #
- If you tick this, then all work instructions opened on this device will skip the first instruction block and proceed directly to the first instruction step. If there are work instruction steps on this device that contain parts/equipment/symbols, then we recommend you leave this option unticked.
- Select who gets to see the instruction step list. An instruction step list displays all the steps of a work instruction, and a user can scroll through this list. Please see the image below to see where it lies:
- Select whether the instruction step list (the feature mentioned in No.2) is inaccessible to everyone by default. If you want the users using this device to always stick to the existing instruction step order (and prevent them from jumping between instruction steps), then you should tick this option.
- Select whether the instruction step list (the feature mentioned in No.2) also displays a time study under each instruction step. Please take a look at the image below to see how it will appear on this device if this option is ticked:
- Select whether the fast forward mode is hidden. If you don’t want any user (regardless of their skill level) to skip any instruction step, then you should tick this option. The fast forward mode can be found on the top right corner of the screen, as shown in the image below:
- Select whether you would like to have a timer on each instruction step (based on that instruction step’s time study). If activated, this is how it will appear:
- Select whether you want the user’s screen to automatically proceed to the next instruction step whenever the timer (the feature mentioned in No.6) runs out. (This feature doesn’t apply to instruction steps with a product check).
- Select who can edit their submitted answer on a product check.
- Select whether to activate the screen pause feature.
- Select whether a user will be automatically logged out whenever that user finishes a work instruction. This feature is useful if there are many users that use this device, and each user is only tasked to execute one specific work instruction.
- When you’re done with your edits, click on “Save”. However, if you would like to cancel your edits, click on “Cancel”.
